Terms of Service

By accessing or using VizRace (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

VizRace is a browser-based tool that enables users to create animated data visualizations (“chart races”) from tabular data and export them as video files. The Service supports six chart types — bar race, column race, line race, reveal line, donut race, and bubble race — with export to MP4, WebM, and GIF formats at resolutions up to 4K and frame rates up to 60fps.

Chart rendering and video export are performed client-side in your browser. Your datasets are not uploaded to our servers during the rendering or export process. Project data (datasets, chart configuration, and thumbnails) is stored server-side to enable saving, reopening, and managing your projects across sessions.

The Service is provided “as is” and may be updated, changed, or discontinued at any time.

To access certain features, you must create an account using email and password or via Google OAuth. Your account is managed through Supabase, our authentication provider. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload, post, or transmit content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringing
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service without our written permission
• Use automated tools to generate excessive load on the Service

Our IP: The Service, including its design, code, trademarks, and content produced by VizRace, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

Your content: You retain ownership of all data and content you upload to the Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

Exported videos: Videos you create and export using the Service are yours to use freely, including for commercial purposes, subject to any third-party rights in your source data. Exports on the Free plan include a VizRace watermark. Paid plans remove the watermark and permit white-label use.

The Service offers the following tiers:

• Free — up to 3 projects, 720p export, WebM format, VizRace watermark, sample datasets, all chart types.
• Pro — unlimited projects, up to 1080p export, MP4, WebM & GIF formats, CSV import, custom branding, no watermark, priority support.
• Business — everything in Pro, plus 4K export, VizRace AI, white-label export, and dedicated support.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. All fees are non-refundable — see Section 7 (Refund Policy) for full details. You can cancel your subscription at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period.

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before increasing prices for existing subscribers.

All purchases are final and non-refundable. We do not offer refunds or credits for any subscription fees, including partial months, unused time, or downgrade adjustments.

If you cancel your subscription, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the Free plan. No prorated refunds will be issued for the remaining time in a billing cycle.

We encourage you to use our Free plan to evaluate the Service before committing to a paid subscription. By upgrading to a paid plan, you acknowledge and agree to this no-refund policy.

This policy does not affect any statutory rights that may apply to you under the consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction.

When you create a chart race, rendering and video encoding happen entirely within your browser using the Canvas API and WebCodecs / MediaRecorder APIs. Your raw dataset is not transmitted to our servers during this process.

We store your project data (datasets, chart configuration, titles, and thumbnails) on our servers so that you can save, reopen, and manage projects across sessions and devices. This data is associated with your account and is not shared with other users unless you explicitly choose to share it.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIZRACE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which VizRace is established, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in that jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
